Facts About the New Four-Legged Robot

Head Camera

Vision is the most important sense to understand the environment for autonomous interaction. The camera of the new four-legged robot overcomes many of the limitations of the old four-legged robot:

  • The resolution is about ten times larger.
  • The image is of much better quality and much more robust with respect to lighting conditions.
  • And the maximum frame rate of 90 frames per second is three times larger.

In scale comparison of the resolution of the head camera of the new and the old four-legged robot:

The specifically designed neck with three actuated joints allows for a large variety of viewing poses with the camera in the robot's head which had not yet been available previously for a four-legged robot.
